Creature Feature: Nirik - Tails of Equestria by River Horse Games

Hello and welcome to the Creature Feature. This is a weekly feature providing new exciting ponies, monsters, and beasts for your favourite roleplaying game: Tails of Equestria. Today’s feature: the Kirin, a reclusive species that tries to keep a handle on their anger.

The Kirin first appeared in My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic. Fluttershy and Applejack find the mysterious village of silent Kirin, all of whom have decided to take a magical vow of silence in order to stop their wrathful forms, the Nirik, from taking over. The Kirin do learn that hiding from communication doesn’t solve your problems, and to get a rainbow, first it has to rain.

Playing a Kirin
Playing a Kirin in Equestria can lead to some pretty heated moments! To play one, you can simply follow the rules in the Bestiary of Equestria on page 112 using these talents and quirks.

Starting talents: Telekinesis (D6), Kirin Heart (D6)
Quirk: Nirik, Choose one

Kirin Heart: The Kirin can use this die on any charm test. If they roll a 1, however, they become enraged and turn into the scary Nirik! A Nirik gains the fire control talent at the same die value as Kirin Heart, but also gains the short fuse quirk. Reverting back to a Kirin requires the Nirik to want to change, and for any player to spend a token of friendship.
