Based upon mechanics designed by Origins-awards winner Alessio Cavatore (Warhammer, Bolt Action, Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game, Terminator Genisys the miniatures game, etc.) The Hunt for Red October uses double sided POSSUB (possible submarine) tokens to allow players to keep the location of their submarines hidden. Players will need to use ASW (anti submarine warfare) technology and tactics to determine the location of their enemies’ subs whilst outmaneuvering their fleet in order to win. Players control hands of cards which are used to give orders to their fleets and place command counters. Each turn is dominated by the scan and fire counters, which can only be activated once per turn and must be timed perfectly.
